Born in Croix-des-Bouquets, on the Island of “Haiti”, Jerry Wonda Duplessis is the third child of his parents “Rosita & Reynold”. He recounts many stories of life growing up in Haiti and his family. The discovery of a bass guitar at his father’s neighbourhood shop was the start of his love for the instruments that earned him the nick-name “Te-Bass” meaning little Bass. He is a self taught musician and music producer.

In the 1980’s Jerry migrated to the US, where he was raised by his father and his aunt who was also Wyclef's mother. and together with his brothers and cousins, started to live their musical dreams in Irvington, New Jersey and most prominently from the basement of his father’s house in East Orange, New Jersey, famously known as the Booga Basement.
